I can't wear my engagement ring!?!

Question: For whatever reason, I broke out with eczema this year (it runs in my family- it's basically just really, really dry patches of skin).

It's on my ring finger and wrist extremely bad, and whenever I wear my engagement ring it just rubs my skin raw!

I'm out of ideas and getting really bummed out :(

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

My sister has bad eczema and she found Eucerin to be very helpful in keeping the breakouts down. It's a rather oily oinment, but is very good at keeping the dry patches down.

You also need to consider that you have an allergy to the metal in the ring. Do you wear any other jewelry that gives you problems? My sister can't wear anything but 18K gold or she breaks out badly. If it's a matter of an allergy, you can always coat the inside of the ring where it touches your skin with clear nail polish. That's what I do for my earrings to keep my ears from reacting to the metal and it works quite well.

This may not work for you, but I suffered with odd patches of exzema for years, until I discovered that clearasil cleared it up within a week - a large patch that I had! I would never have tried clearasil because I have dry skin, but it worked.
