There are a lot of misconceptions out there about viral infections. Many people say, "once you have a virus, you have it for life" and that is not necessarily true.
As you mention in your question, it is possible that a person can "clear" some viruses like Hep C, HPV, Hep B, etc.,.
With HPV, infections are often acquired early (15-19 years of age), and the majority (>80%) of these infection clear spontaneously within 18 months --- which is why physicians will often wait 18-24 months before beginning any treatment in case it clears on its own. Same with the strains of HPV that cause genital warts: more than 90% of patients with external genital warts will experience complete clearance within 2 years with or without treatment (though treatment is usually preferred by the patient, and it should be noted that just because warts go away does not necessarily mean the HPV infection is cleared.)

Yes, it happened to me. I was tested positive 3 times (every 6 months), I had colposcopy, biopsy for mild dysplasia .
I followed Tori Hudson protocol for natural treatment and the last time my test came HPV negative.
I cannot wait to be tested again in 4 months just to see that this is real and not some kind of mistake.
It happened to me. I had about 7 years of positive tests for HPV. Now I did switch doctors and I dont know if this had soomething to do with it. But since then I have had negative tests for HPV for 1 year. I'm so excited!! It can happen to you too.
