Ask your parents if you had them removed. Or if that is not a possibility and you are alone. Stand in front of a mirror open your mouth wide and look in side. You will see your uvula hanging down from the roof of your throat. Now if you look to the left or right of your uvula on the sides of your throat you will see a bump on each side these are your tonsils. If they are red and look swollen with with pox marks, you probably have tonsillitis if they are not you may have Strep throat either way go see a doctor. You may need antibiotics.

Recurrent ear infections, strep throat and or sore throat over a long period of time. Like several in a one year period.
Or maybe a viral infection that never goes away. Sinus infections that never go away.

They swell up WAY beyond normal (to the point you can't breathe). Don't worry, getting sick with the flu won't cause it (even if sometimes you think it does).
