Anyone know how to get rid of excessive phlem caught in throat?!
Question: I had a cold, I think that it is gone. Since, I have had this really nasty mucus caught in my throat. I need to get rid of it. It is driving me absolutely crazy. I have tried Nyquil, Dayquil, Robotussin and every cough drop imaginable. Please, please help.

cough and spit! if you take cough syrup it suppresses cough take an expectorant cough syrup. sounds like sinuses try something for your sinuses.a Dr.would be your best answere.
I have that too. I gargle with half and half warm water and hydrogen peroxide. It foams up and then I make myself cough it up. Sounds gross, but it does work! If you have sinus issues, you should also use a saline nasal spray to keep your sinuses cleaned out. Then gargle after to get all the stuff that will run down your throat.

Sounds like post nasal drip. I think that some of those medications would probably dry you out and make the mucus thicker than it already is. I think your best bet would be to keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of non-caffeinated beverages especially water. See if that doesn't help you. Otherwise, if you get no relief and the mucus still drives you crazy, make an appt with your medical doctor and see what prescription med he/she could prescribe.
