Hi,

Unfortunately, even though the Chinese government issued a press release claiming they would no longer discriminate against HIV positive individuals. The practice of issuing visas to folks with HIV is something entirely different.

You should visit the visa section of http://eslteachercafe.com or http://z-visa.com

Some provinces will not require a medical exam prior to entry or as a condition of getting the Z work visa required for a one year residence, but there will certainly be a supplemental medical exam requiring a blood test within a month after arriving.

If HIV were to be found during the supplemental medical examination, it is very unlikely the Dr would sign off on the residence permit and your friend would be unemployable and have to come home within 30 days.

Wish I had better news.

She probably wont have a chance, some people arnt as understanding and get freaked out, especially as she wants to teach they could she her as a liability.
