Dry white substance?!

Question: I have what feels like a cyst under my skin, but I'm able to pinch it and remove what seems to be slightly drier and much whiter than pus. What's strange is that is has an odor, kind of like a foot. Does anyone know if that's a common occurance or what it is specifically?

It probably has a waxy, cheesy substance coming out of it. It is called a sebaceous cyst; never cancerous, but it needs to be removed in a surgeons office. If you don't get the core out, it will continue coming back ove and over til you do something about it. People who get these often get one after another, especially under their arms, but other places, too.

Don't squeeze it! All you are doing is pressing the infection deeper.

It is a sebaceous cyst. A sebaceous cyst is a closed sac under the skin filled with a cheese-like or oily material.

Causes, incidence, and risk factors:

Sebaceous cysts most often arise from swollen hair follicles. Skin trauma can also induce a cyst to form. A sac of cells is created into which a protein called keratin is secreted.

These cysts are usually found on the face, neck, and trunk. They are usually slow- growing, painless, freely movable lumps beneath the skin. Occasionally, however, a cyst will become inflamed and tender.

Josh, why don't you see a doctor instead of guessing? If I were you, I would not stay one minute without cheking it out. What if it is something serious? Don't you want to find out intead of guessing? Make an appointments with your primary care doctor and check it out. If you do not have a doctor, go to a clinic. Most hospital have one. Good luck!
