Do nurses smoke?!
Question: I was visiting my friend in the hospitol and it seemed like alot of the nurses smoked? I could smell it and could even see what looked like packs under their clothes. Why do so many nurses smoke. Do they all start in nursing school or something?

I was an EMT for 7 years and while taking a patient to a local hospital, I noticed one of the regular nurses taking her smoke break but the thing that really kills me is that she was pregnant. Now that is pathetic.

who knows exactly why they smoke but its not uncommon for people to smoke regardless of their profession, you think since they know its bad for them they would shy away but some people just dont care.
I am a nurse & don't smoke ~ but I am just about the only one! I don't understand it ~ I have seen many people die horrible deaths due to COPD & lung cancer, that should be a great motivation for quitting, right?
It's too bad the nurses still smelled like cigarettes, but I doubt they were carrying them in their pockets. I can tell you that I get so many gross things on or near my uniform during the course of a shift that I don't want to put *anything* to my lips that has touched the inside of my pockets, LOL!
A long time ago, I worked at a small, locally owned organic grocery store ~ almost every employee smoked, so see ~ it's not just nurses who are hypocrites ;)
some nures smoke to relex but if u see tem smokingu should complain 2 the moh (ministry of health)
