What can you do to stop the flu?!

Question: Like the news always says, WASH YOUR HANDS. Wash them before each meal, after meal, after using the john, after going to places like public restrooms and restaurants. There is no way to completely stop the spread of the flu, but you can cut down your risk by keeping clean.

Hygiene. The single best thing to do is wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water 6 times a day. In between times use the alcohol goop hand sanitizer everything you touch things in a public place.

I would also usually recommend the flu shot, but this year it was basically useless -- the doctors guessed wrong when compounding it, better luck next year.

if you have been exposed Tamiflu is prophyaxis

To not catch it the best thing to do is to stay away from people who have it or places where those people may have been and to wash your hands often.

If you already have it the best thing you can do is get lots of rest and give your body to get rid of it.
You need to drink lots of liquids, water, gatorade, apple juice...stuff like that. Nothing citrusy because it can make you feel sick.
You may not have an appetite but you need to try and eat. Toast with butter is good. You need energy to keep your energy up and give your body energy so it can fight the infection.
Do not do too much physical activity. Get a lot of rest. Stay warm too.
Grab a blanket and some hot cocoa.
Rest and time will take care of the flu. The same goes for the common cold.

Medicine like robittussin will help mask the symptoms, but to get rid of it you should follow the above directions.

go to your GP and have the flu jab you may be one of the lucky ones who never get the flu again.

Go to the doctors and the will give you medicine or you will go to the hospital
