I don't thinlk anybody really knows yet. Or for that matter, even knows what it is. The CDC finally aknowleged it as a disease entity and is researching it but I haven't seen any details yet

No one knows the cause yet, so there's no telling if it's contagious. In fact, some doctors don't believe it's a separate syndrome at all and believe it's symptomatic of some other disease.
