Whentaking methotrexate how long does it take for the side effects to occur?!

Question: The incidence and severity of side effects are related to the dose and frequency of administration. This is a very toxic drug and your doc should be monitoring you closely. The most frequently reported side effects are ulcerative stomatitis, leukopenia, nausea, and abdominal distress. Others reported are malaise, undue fatigue, chills and fever, dizziness and decreased resistance to infection. This can come on quickly. Be careful with the use of NSAIDS and methotrexate because it can increase the toxicity of this drug. Since you didn't mention if you are taking low doses for psorarisis, or higher doses for RA or as part of your cancer chemotherapy it is hard to say.

You really cant place a time table on when to expect side effects...you could experience them immediately(allergic reaction) or even months after you stopped taking the medication. Just keep an eye out for any changes and dont be afraid to address them with your physician
