Is this lice or dandruff?!? Help please?!
Question: sometimes my scalp gets like weird crusty things that are white. Only my scalp is where I notice them. They are flaky. Sometimes dandruff shampoo will help, sometimes it won't. Not really itchy but I'm still paranoid. Is it lice or dandruff?

Just dandruff dear. It happens a lot during winter season , too. Try the shampoos out there. You might have to try different ones to see which one works for you.
It's really most likely dandriff. Lice are like, you know creepier.
If you had lice you would know because they jump and they itch. If you are concerned about the dandruff go to a dermatologist for a medicated shampoo. Or try Tgel Shampoo. It's kind of expensive but it works wonders! Good Luck
Its just dandruff. Lice usually makes your scalp itchy and you end up scratching. Dandruff is just like drying of the scalp.
There are medicated dandruff shampoos you should try. Call the pharmacist at Walgreen's or Wal-Mart and see what they recommend.
Lice, also known as fly babies, are an order of over 3,000 species of wingless INSECTS, classified as a disease in humans. Dandruff is due to the EXCESSIVE SHEDDING OF DEAD SKIN CELLS from the scalp. As it is normal for skin cells to die and flake off, a small amount of flaking is normal and in fact quite common.
lice isent white or flaky lice are like insects very tiny but crawl around on your scalp and bite the **** out of your head ... you would know if you had lice you would be scrastching non stop for days it dosent go away unless treated.... now lice leave eggs called nits those are white but they do not flake out of fall out of your hair there pretty much glued to your hair strand so if you pull on and you know its stuck to your hair to where you have to rip that strant out its a nit/ lice it almost looks like your hair grew a little knot ...... but no you just have dandruff go out and but T-Gel dandruff shampoo its great for what your going through
Looks like dandruff.You can try this remedy. Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and 6 tablespoons of hot water.Dab with cotton into the scalp,parting the hair with a comb.It should preferably be used at bed time.
