Allergy or bed mites?!

Question: Last night when I went to bed, I started experiencing a lot of itching all over my body. It bothered me for almost two hours, before I got up changed the sheets and took a benadryl.

I know that I have skin allergies to some perfumes that are found in detergent/wash gels, so as of late I have been using perfume free Tide for bed sheets, and regular tide for clothes as it appears I am not allergic to regular tide on clothes.

So this sudden itching yesterday is very strange. I have not changed these sheets in couple of weeks. Could it be bed mites? I will definitely wash the old sheets tonight, and hopefully that's all.

Any ideas?

People are not allergic to the mites but are allergic to their fecal matter. But it is usually a respritory allergy not a skin one. You could try something like Febreze Allergen Reducer and spritz your bed about 1/2 hour before bed (so it is dried) then make sure you change your sheets once a week. It may help. If it continues perhaps your should go to an allergist. There maybe something different like your may be allergic to one of the components of the sheets. Make sure your sheets are 100% cotton.

bed mites don't bite :P

must've something went on your bed that you are allergic to
