Does Diabetes ever go into remission?!

Question: Not for type 1,Juvenile Diabetes; however with Type 2, it is possible to have it go into remission. I was a 5 shot a day diabetic, I weighed over 300 lbs,
I had a BPD=bilio pancreatic diversion a.k.a. a gastric bypass. As long as my weight stays under 150 lbs, I'll never have to worry about Diabetes again. I am usually underweight and very anemic because my body doesn't absorb fats and needed nutrients. I don't recommend this surgery to anyone unless they are 100% over their normal weight.
The answer to your question is: Yes, this can happen.

no but it can be controlled

no but it can be controlled with insulin some ways of intake are pumps omnipods and needles . once you get it under ur belt its easy or fairly easy to controll

No. The body cannot learn how to use insulin if it it doesn't have it to use as with type one. Type 2 it has it but does not know how to use it. Once meds start-you stay on them the rest of your life. diabetes has no remission. It cannot take a break from using insulin and all of a sudden start making it's own insulin again. It would be nice if it had a remission so we could take a break once in a while from it. I am a type 2 patient.

I guess you would have to define remission. Since adopting a nutrient rich, low calorie, primarily natural foods diet, losing 50 pounds, and walking daily, my 5 year bout with type two diabetes no longer requires any medication whatsoever. I don't care what you call it, remission, reversal, miracle, cured... it's all the same to me. It's just peachy.

Actually, yes it can go into temporary remission if you take certain medications that help restore some of your beta cell function. This is not common, and probably doesn't last long. I was just reading an article written by a doctor about this very thing. Sorry, don't know where it was.

I have also read that some type 2 diabetics who are overweight and have gastric bypass surgery, then lose a lot of weight will have the same result, but that is a dangerous surgery with serious risks and no guarentees and as soon as they gain back the weight, the diabetes comes back.

Diabetics who lose weight (type 2's) on their own through diet and exercise may also experience a temporary remission. The diabetes is NOT cured, its still there, its just not showing any signs or symptoms and is said to be in remission. As soon as they go back to their old way of eating, or gain weight again, they get all the symptoms back again.

Yes you can be in remission with diabetes and cure it.Believe it after trying. There is no cost.
These pranayam exercises will help control the diabetes and the side effects.Build up the timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume later. The benefits will be noticed in weeks as the sugar level is checked daily.Over the long tern the diabetes will be in full control and the medicine can be reduced in consultation with the doctor.
