Do not be worried, in 99,.9% of the cases in pubescent teens, this is very normal. The glands in the armpit can become swollen while fighting infections, can become blocked, and in very few instances form a tumor.
So make an appt with the Doctor, and dont worry.

It's probably a swollen gland. Take him to the Dr.

cyst... go to a doctor and have him pop it.

i'm not sure but sounds like could be an ingrown hair that got infected. i have had something similar.

There are a lot of lymph nodes under the arm pit. If it feels like it is under the skin and not part of the skin, it is probably a swollen lymph node. This means that there is more than likely some type of infection in his body. It probably wouldn't hurt to take him to the doctor to get it checked out and get on some antibiotics if needed.

You know he needs to get this checked out!

It could even be something not serious. It can be a simple infection or ingrown hair. at the same time you should not ignore it or wait long. Any lump under the armpit is concerning. I would consider a referral to a general surgeon for further evaluation.
