Get new DR.'s first of all. And start paying attention to what is throwing your sugar level off. And start writing everything you eat down. And watch to see if there is something in the foods that you don't realise is in them (aspecially any processed food). Sometimes there are other names for sugar, fat, or carbs. All three can hurt your sugar level. Then check your life style. Are you an uptite kind of person are you dealing with alot of stress. Your life style can have alot to do with it. But try taking things out of your diet that are iffy or you are not sure about. But also see if you are on the right meds. Because if your meds are not right then they are not going to help you. Keep your head up try to get into touch with others who have this that can help. They also can be a good support system for you and might even have ideas that would help.

You may need a change in your meds. You should see an endocrinologist which is a Dr that specializes in things lie Diabetes

I agree. You need to see the right kind of doctor. Does anyone in your family have diabetes? It often runs in families. If so, can you see the same doctor? It is very important for you to control diabetes to avoid complications later in life. There is a website for kids with diabetes: www.jdrf.org that might give you some useful information. When you were in the hospital, did they review your diet with you? You said you eat "right", but do you follow a diabetic diet? I hope you can get this under control. Best of luck!

Are you eating at the right times? You need a snack and at school you are probably not getting that in..... I also agree when everyone says to change Dr.s and to right all you eat down but also what time you eat it..... I am glad that at 14 you are being serious about getting this under control..... It will definitely effect your health later on if you don't.....

It sounds to me like you may have type 1 DM. Type 2 DM usually effects people older then you and is associated with obesity. There is a big difference in the treatment of type 1 and type 2 DM. Type 1 dm you have to take inulin shots for the rest of your life. Type 2 dm you can take pills and sometimes need insulin, and the condition responds to weight loss and many people no longer need medication have losing weight.
