Glucagon Auto-Injector?!
Question: Does anyone know where to get glucagon kits in an auto-injector form? Or if they even exist?
All the kits I've seen use a full syringe with bottle, and that requires a bit more skill to use. They have auto-injectors for epinephrine, you'd think they'd make them for glucagon too, since it usually is used in an emergency by untrained people

Sadly, there are no auto-injectors for glucagon. The reason being, the powdered glucagon would 'go off' if kept in the sterile water that you would normally need to inject into the powder, meaning that it wouldn't have the desired effect of stimulating the liver to release its stored form of glucose (called glycogen).
I'm pretty sure you have to have a prescription for them... I know you have to have one for the epi-pen auto injectors. Other than that most every pharmacy should carry them, I haven't found one yet that didn't carry epi-pens.
