She probably learned this from her parents also. My parents done this to my children until I found out better. Alcohol contributes to retaining the body temp. Such a bad idea. Live & Learn. We still love GRANDMA!!!!!!!
alcohol cools the body. try a alcohol wash . you can get it at chemists. worked on me.

never heard of this but gave peroxide bath for infection
Never heard of this, though I imagine it would have some cooling effect as it evaporates.
Probably no better than a cool water bath
