Do cancer patients still have horrible pain that cant be medicated?!

Question: Or is it just certain cancers that have intense pain that cant be helped?

Answers: Or is it just certain cancers that have intense pain that cant be helped?

I think it depends on the type of cancer. My little brother is a bone cancer sufferer, and while a tumor was growing, it was very hard to medicate. Only morphine and percocet would work. He no longer has said tumor, but I just think it depends on the type of cancer. Especially since I would think each one has different pains associated with it.

Advances in pain medication have made control of cancer pain quite possible, but I hear reports of people who are still in very high levels of pain near the ends of their lives.

Not all cancer patients have pain with their disease. It depends on the type of cancer and where it's at. My mom had breast cancer and towards the end she was on a morphine drip to help with pain.

Not all cancer patients have pain. Also most can be controlled by medication.
