How to tell someone you have MRSA?!

Question: I know that I'm scared as hell of it..and I don't want to scare off anyone else, but how do you tell someone close that you have it without completely freaking them out? I mean if I manage to get rid of it, will they be okay..I won't be contagious anymore? Has anyone ever ACTUALLY got rid of it in a couple of months time?

MRSA is just an antibiotic-immune-staph infection. Once its been removed you shouldn't have another problem. However, if another infection does occur, you might want to have your doctor run tests to make sure you are no longer a carrier.

As a carrier, MRSA, stays dormant in the nose and will require antibiotics to get rid of it. The good news, its highly unlikely (if you are a carrier) to spread MRSA to anybody but yourself unless you make a habit of picking your nose and touching other peoples open sores.

Its not something to be scared of, or ashamed of. It's a natural reaction staph bacteria is having from the over-use of anti-bacterial soaps in today's society. You see, when someone uses anti-bacterial soap, they might be killing the bacteria on their hands, but they are washing it away into the sewers were staph bacteria overwhelm it and feed off of it. The result is that Staph and MRSA actually THRIVE off of anti-bacterial soap.

If you know you have a staph infection I would plead with you to have it checked out by a doctor. If you are worried about catching it again, be careful not to expose acne, wounds or any sores in places like Gyms, Hospitals and Prisons, Keep your fingers and fingernails away from your nose, and you might want to start cleaning out your system with water, cranberry juice, etc.

Knowing what I know now, I can tell you that I do not use anti-bacterial soaps and have found that products like Tea Tree Oil and StaphAseptic work wonderfully on Staph infections and MRSA infections.

Hope this helped

mmm like this

"(insert name here) i have MRSA, pass me the butter please thank you."

Talking to a doctor seems to be a nice option....

Most people actually carry it up their noses anyway so we all probably have it with out it causing a danger. My dad had it and it went away. It was a danger to him as he was elderly and infirm. There are a lot of superbugs out there eg chlosridium dificile not just MRSA but there's a lot of hype surrounding MRSA.
Tell people and they take the necessary precautions. If you're in hospital everyone will know you have it cause the nurses will ask visitors to use plastic disposable gloves and aprons.
