Salicylic acid... Hands down!
Benzoyl Peroxide is not as great as the world has become to think. Who wants dry flaky skin?
Exfoliate you skin with glycolic acid and salicylic acid products. Such as cleansers, toners, and topicals. Stay away from products like ProActive.
Make sure you drink a lot of water, don't over cleanse or scrub your face, and make sure you are taking a lot of antioxidant vitamins including vitamin C, and Zinc.
Salicylic acid is the best effective topical ointment. Also--get more zinc in your system--eat a lot of oatmeal.
Lay off sugary foods. Drink water. get zinc lozenges if you have to.
Depends on the person and the type of acne. Sometimes one will work better for one person than the other. Using both together isn't usually recommended.
Benzoyl peroxide dries and kills the bacteria. Salicylic acid helps encourage skin cell turnover.
