Is there a connection between bodybuilding and acne?!

Question: I haven't had acne in years. But I've been hitting the weights extra hard lately, and suddenly my face is breaking out. Not really bad, but more acne than I've had in years. Is there a connection or is it just a coincidence?

A lot of toxins are stored in your adipose tissue aka you body fat. When your body fat decreases, the toxins that were stored in that fat are released into your bloodstream. These circulating toxins can cause many unpleasant things to happen including headaches, GI upsets, skin breakouts, allergic-like reactions, flu-like symptoms, and liver pain/kidney pain. That is why people who lose weight too quickly often get sick -- all those toxins in the blood.

Also, are you protecting you face at the gym? If you're putting your face against a bench, or putting a towel on a bench and then wiping your face with it, you could be creating a nasty low level staph infection on our face. Be careful about what touches your face and after each workout give your face a good scrub with germicidal acne treatment.

When u are worn down or ill, u usually get spots. If u have not being gettin enough sleep or not eatin a balanced diet, or have changed another part of ur daily routine, this could be the reason. I dont think that body building and acne is related at all.

Probably because you are sweating more.

No, examine foods high in iodine. Watch out for multi-vitamins (some contain iodine). Be aware of some junk foods such as potato chips, corn chips, etc. Keep your diet low in fat and sugar. Eating a properly balanced diet ensures that your body gets the proper nutrients and therefore promotes healthy skin.

The biggest myth about acne is that bacteria and dirt cause it. That's not true! Your hormones and your skin's inability to shed off old, dead cells cause acne
