Ringworn on humans what stop them?!

Question: tried over the counter creams

Answers: tried over the counter creams

i have ringworm and dr told me to use anti-fungal cream, and it that don't help go to a demologist.

What over the counter creams have you tried? Try an antifungal cream and keep it covered for 3 days.

its just a fungus so any antifungal like tinactin should help. if you've been scraching heavily, you may have to get a prescription strength cream. the areas should be circular in nature and have some red raised dots in the affected area. apply the cream 3 times a day after washing the area well. you'll have to do it for 3 weeks to a month. keep the area dry and clean in between applications. wash your socks and linens in hot water every other day and make sure you clean your shower with bleach or a bleach substitute. you may have to change your socks a couple of times during the day if the areas are within that area to keep it dry due to foot perspiration. don't use powders to keep the area dry because they only trap in moisture. DON"T DON"T DON"T keep it covered because that traps in moisture which is exactly what helps it spread. and don't use any hydrocortisone creams unless you want it to spread like wild fire.

if it still is sticking out of the skin have a doctor take a rod and twirll the worm out.

ask your doctor for further questions

Have you tried the OTC creams w/ Tolnaftate. Look in the foot care isle. This is used on athlete's foot but works on ring worm. Ring worm and athlete's foot are both fungal infections. Use it frequently, and wash hands well after touching the ring worm, it can spread very easily. If that does not work, go see a Dr.

HI THere

Here are some ideas to heal the issue.

Cause
Ringworm is most often due to poor hygiene and/or too tightly enclosed clothing that can cause excessive sweating in the affected area. To treat and prevent ringworm, bathe or shower at least once a day, and change socks and underwear every day. If you use showers in public areas, such as in the gym, wear shower sandals to avoid fungal contact with your feet and toes.

Ringworm can also be a secondary condition associated with candidiasis. A parasite and colon cleanse is needed for long term good health.

Natural Cures

Aromatherapy: Topical applications of rosemary, tea tree, lavender, geranium, peppermint, thuja, and/or thyme can be helpful.

Diet: Avoid all sugars, alcohol, processed foods, and foods to which you are allergic or sensitive (screen for food allergies). Also avoid wheat and dairy products, and eat plenty of organic, fresh vegetables, as well as garlic and onions, both of which act as natural antibiotics. In addition, drink plenty of pure, filtered water throughout the day.

Herbs: To speed healing, apply a paste made of equal parts myrrh powder and goldenseal powder mixed with a little water.

Homeopathy: Useful remedies include Sepia, Arsen alb., and Graphites.

Nutritional Supplementation: The following nutrients are recommended: garlic capsules and probiotic substances such as Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacteria, vitamin A, vitamin B-complexB-complex, vitamin C with bioflavonoids, vitamin E, bee pollen, evening primrose oil, citrus seed extract (orally and applied topically), and colloidal silver (applied topically).

Topical Treatment: Tape or bandage a thin slice of garlic directly over the affected area for several days.

Alternative Professional Care
If your symptoms persist despite the above measures, seek the help of a qualified health professional. The following professional care therapies have all been shown to be useful for treating ringworm: Detoxification Therapy, Magnetic Field Therapy, Naturopathic Medicine, Oxygen Therapy (ozonated olive oil applied topically), and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

iodine.Sometimes the best treatments are the tried and true classics

Try a cream that contain an -azole product as its active ingredient. such as:Clotrimazoles [Lotrimin AF,Mycelex ] and miconazoles [Micatin, Monistat ] should control the ringwormfungi quickly. If that doesn't work see a dermatologist

My doctor told me there were 3 types of ringworm fungus. Two respond really well with the OTC cream, but the third does not.

He said this sounded weird, but I did what he suggeseted anyway. The third type of ringworm fungus responds to selenium sulfide, the active ingredient in Selsun Blue.

Apply a thin layer to your ringworm twice a day. Let sit for 10 minutes, and then wash off. This worked for my ringworm.
