Does a weak heart at birth mean heart problems later in life?!
Question: I was born with a sizeable hole in my heart. The doctors said that if the heart didn't heal to at least a murmur by age 1, open heart surgery would be needed. Luckily, the heart healed to a murmur, by that time.
I am 33 years old and, by listening to the heart, a murmur is no longer detected. My concern, though, is - if I was born with a heart defect, could this cause problems later in life?

Not necessarily...make sure you see a Cardiologist for a check up (stress test, ect) and you should see him/her at least once a year. Good luck!!!
