When you throw up blood, does that mean you're going to die?!

Question: ?

Answers: ?

No, not necessarily.

Throwing up blood is a serious symptom that absolutely must be checked out by a physician immediately. But the majority of cases are due to stomach ulcers, or esophageal damage.

And, in response to Idsdevil.....if you live in Canada and walk into any emergency room and mention to any triage nurse that you are throwing up blood you will not need to wait. And if you need emergency surgery, you don't need to wait either. If you walk into the ER with a non life-threatening issue, you may have to wait. People are "triaged" when they arrive so that those with the most life-threatening issues are dealt with first. Makes sense to me.
But you will not have to pay ANYTHING. Emergency care including any non-cosmetic surgery/doctor's visits are completely covered.
I know of no one who has had to go into bankruptcy because of hospital/doctors bills.
Yes, our system isn't perfect, but if you aslk someone in another country with no health coverage.......I'm sure they'd love to come to Canada.

No, it means you should go see a doctor.

SOMETIME UR BODY DOES THAT BCUZ U HAVE TO MUCH FLUID OR TO MUCH BLOOD

it means your esophagus is bruised from constant vomiting or purging. Are you anorexic or bulimic? If so, you should seek help.

Possible could be internal bleeding. I would go see a doctor asap. If you live in Canada I feel sorry for you. You may have to wait in line for a few hours and then hope they have enough doctors, beds and medication.

it could mean a lot of different things.

If you're throwing up Red blood or anything that looks like coffee grounds, you need to see a doctor. A trip to the Er is not out of line here, especially if you have any discomfort or pain.

nope dear...
