What makes somebody to grow up to be 'anal'?!

During the process of development in humans....they go to a stage. ....phallic and anal (there is an earlier stage which I forgot). Everyone when they are babies goes through this stage. If the anal stage has been disrupted (i.e. the kind of rearing you got), people get stuck on the anal stage ....and they carry this all their life (as an adult).
Yes, my Wife. It is all self induced. She does everything the hard way and will not budge. She thinks it makes her mother proud of her. What it really does is make her more of a pain in the *ss.
