Applying steam to your face will open up your pores. Some people steam their faces before cleansing. After cleansing, splash with cold water to close the pores back up. This prevents bacteria from getting in there.

It's good to clear up pores. But make sure to wash with cold water to close them up again. Go to acne.org and follow Dan's directions it helped me so much. Good luck !
