Look up Threelac.

You could go to your doctor and get a presciption for the pill called diflucan. Otherwise all the other treatments must be stuck "up there".

If you use an over the counter yeast infection product, you will have to use it intravaginally (that is "sticking it up there") to clear it all the way up. Otherwise, you will only be treating the yeast on the outside and miss the stuff inside. Believe me, it's better than letting this go on and being uncomfortable.

Gynelotrimin or Monistat are common over the counter treatments. You use them for seven days usually. If you have a yeast infection that doesn't clear up with 7 days of that treatment, you should see a doctor. S/he can test you to make sure it's candida and then either give you a different cream or the diflucan pill (the pill you take orally).

The reason for starting with the mildest effective remedy/treatment first is to be sure you don't decrease your sensitivity to the stronger stuff too early. If you use the hard core stuff like Diflucan right off, what are you going to do if you ever get thrush or a yeast infection that stops responding to it? Start off with the creams. They are not that bad, and the relief makes it worth the whole long tube (it's not *that* long) and cream ick factor.
