Has anyone taken Amitriptyline?!

Question: And did it work for you to help you sleep? Did you feel groggy the next day? And how long did it take for you to get used to this drug?

My doctor put me on 10mg to help me sleep. I took it one night but the next day it made me feel like I was "hallucinating" I did however, have one alcoholic beverage 3 hours beforehand and I know I shouldn't have drank.

First of all do NOT drink with this medication. There should be a sticker warning on your bottle. Second, you need to take this medication several hours before you are to go to bed. It takes several hours for it to begin to work. It can cause dry mouth and maybe grogginess, that should pass in a week or so. However if you still have the hallucinations tonite after NOT drinking, notify your doctor immediately. This medication just may not be for you. There are other options. Don't give up.

i was on it for two months to help me sleep with my migraines and for the first couple of weeks it was a bit strange but then it settles down. its quite strong nad effective. im not a doctor but i would say its just part of it if not ask your gp bubs

well #1 DONT DRINK WITH THAT....THAT CAN SCREW UP YOUR LIVER AS WELL...#2 if 1 seem to much take 1/2 but make sure you take it earlly enough were you know you can get 8 hours of sleep
