Wet oatmeal or eucerin cream, and yet anything in excess can cause irritation.

Try preparations that contain coal tar. There are a few out there or your doctor can prescribe. It works well and there are no long term reactions of skin damage.

i'm at a loss for the short term, but as for the long term, cuting out sugar and chocolate will deny the rich food sources for the yeast involved which causes ezcema

notice it's the same people who keep getting athletes foot and eczema, thats because their diet contains a rich food source for the microbes that cause the eczema, cut it out, and the yeast literally starve before they go into population mode causing the rash.

try eating more fresh fruit and veg
avoid refined sugars, and drastically cut down on choclate
you will see the effects in about 2 weeks

If your exczema is due to an allergy, eliminate the problem food first. NOTHING will stop the itch if the itch is from an INTERNAL allergy, cuz' the itch is coming from the inside to the outside. Cool compresses will take down swelling and itching. Benydryl pills or a generic anti-histimine will also take away the itch.
Ointments? May cause a NEW topical reaction on already irritated skin. (skin reaction on top of the internal reaction)

Moisture of the cream may also leave you prone to infection on the area.
