I have Eczema on my lower body. Can you recommend any natural remedies?!


Question: Yes, I used to have eczema too. It was a great embarassment to me, so i definitely feel for you. It was a few years ago. I read some articles and a book (sorry, i don't remember what it's called), and decided to try their advice.

Two things that really helped me that my doctor didn't talk to me about: food intolerances and stress.

Many people believe that eczema can be aggravated or flare up again due to food intolerances--things that our body doesn't react to well when consumed. In my case, I reacted to dairy products. That and wheat are common ones.

Once i cut out dairy, and cut down on not-great things like sugar and white starches, my eczema cleared up and went away.

I should also mention that I did make an great effort to handle my stress. I didn't acknowledge my feelings very well and tried to ignore them or keep them bottled up. I started to acknowledge them at least to myself at first, and started to realize how stressed i felt.

I started to do something called 'progressive relaxation' every day. You start by lying down somewhere comfortable and undisturbed. Then you begin to acknowledge, then tense, each part of the body--one at a time--starting with the feet. Then you let it go and relax that part of the body. Give it a minute and go on to the next part of the body, say the lower legs. You do this 'til you get to your head. Give yourself at least a few minutes at the end to notice how it feels when you relax your body. It doesn't take that long, and when you have more time you can draw it out more if you want.

Another thing, try to have something in your life that you enjoy and can spend SOME time at least doing. It's easy to obsess over eczema, i know, but that won't help.

use aloe vera cream. it soothes. it will help. i had exma on my legs. it was annoiyn and irritating. aloe vera does the trick
