Can you get a Hemorrhoid from a thong?!
Question: I'm pretty sure I somehow got a extrenal hemorrhoid overnight. Last night I was fine. I came home from clubbing and noticed the next day discomfort there, and now part of my anus is extremely swollen and painful. I've been researching all night and Hemorrhoid is the only thing I can think of. BUT WHY? Was it my thong? Was it the moisture from dancing? WHY!
Will it go away on its own? I'm a 19 year old girl... why do I have this? I don't have health insurance, and I don't want to tell my parents about this. HELP!

I don't think its a hemorrhoid. They are when blood vessels expand from having weak spots in their walls (caused by straining when defecating or possible by circulatory problems).
Unless your thong was so intensely tight that it somehow cut off circulation, I'd say your problem is it simply was too chafing. It probably caused a small cut or abrasion that has become a bit inflamed. Try some fragrance-free ointment like vaseline overnight (which would simply relieve it a little) Or even better, try antibacterial stuff that you would put on any other cut or infection. Look in your first aid box/cupboard for general purpose ointment. With time it will probably go away. If it doesn't get better in the next few days then unfortunately yes, you should admit the embarrassing problem to a parent or doctor!
Hemorrhoids are nothing to worry about. They go away in a few days. If you go to the hospital for that they will laugh at you and tell you it's not a big deal and it seems worse than it really is. lol At least that is what they said on an episode of House.
It could be a hemorrhoid. I had one when I was about your age and in college, and I understand not wanting to tell parents. Pharmacies sell Preparation H suppositories which work very fast and effectively, even more so than the cream or medicated sheets. If you wish to try this, get a small box as the ones you haven't used yet have to be kept refrigerated.
I don't think a thong could cause a hemorrhoid, but it surely could cause irritation. Either way, the Preparation H suppository will probably have you feeling better overnight. It has a continuous soothing effect for several hours.
