A question about coughing up stuff... sorry it's so gross...?!
Question: I've got a cold and a bad, tight cough.
I just had a coughing fit, and I coughed up something small, that kind of resembles a grain of cous-cous. It's white/creamy colored, round, and small. (not a booger).
What could it be? It feels like it came from my lungs, or throat.

i get them all the time, its just mucus ! they do look like cous cous and they are really round !! strange littel things. its gross aint it but it will go. take cough meds and drink lots of water. get well soon.
It probably came from the lower generations of your airways-don't worry about it, clear/white don't usually denote any kind of infection or further concern.
If it becomes copious, green/yellow or brown/red, watch it for a couple of days and contact a doctor if it persists. It could mean an infection, etc.
To help with your mucus, increase the amount of liquid that you take in and drink non-carbonated drinks such as water and juices.

I was also having similar problems , it lasted for almost more than two months in july last year , I was coughing all day all night, I was finding it very difficult to bread at night,kinda chocking throat, then I remember I trien more then 5 types of syrups, I use to drink hot water, ginger water, and lot of stuff, worst thing was I was away from my Ice Cream for 2 full months.
Later I tried some antibiotics(as priscribe by Doctor) i guess which worked after few weeks.I think it was viral infection.
I thing U better consult doctor. Hope U get relief Soon.
