HEP C Question?!

Question: Your answers seem the most logical so i have a couple more to ask. I really am not sure how long the condom was broken but i did have blood on my penin head. Is the risk of catching it still relatively low?

yes...unless you have an abrasion or a cut at the tip of the penis.
You see ....in any kind of infection , there should be a PORTAL OF ENTRY. Portal of entry is how the virus gains access to our body. The skin provides an excellent barrier to infections...now if this is compromised (i.e. cut, abrasions) you will develop the infection.

To appease your mind...you can go to the CDC website. In the site ,they make mention of discordant couples (where in only one of the person is HCV positive). The position of CDC is that no condom is acceptable among monogamous couples.

Ok, the answer is there is a SMALL/SLIGHT chance that you can get it but only if you have like a cut/sore on your pennis where that blood was at. It is rare for it to passed from haveing sex but it is possible. My husband is HEP C positive and we have been married for 4 years and I was tested and DO NOT have it or even beed exsposed to it. I work in the medical feild and had to get tested when we found out he had it as I could pass it on to the people that I work with if I had it too. But I don't have it. If you still are worried about it then go to your local clinic and get tested. You could get the resultes back in 2-5 days. It cost about $35-$55 to get it done. I Hope that I have helped you in sme small way!! Good Luck!!!!!
