After how long of having the flu are you not contagious?!

Question: I think i have the flu. Fever of 103.5 for 5 days now, shortness of breath, get light headed real easily, dry cough, head ache, no appetite, and nauseous, but not throwing up. I am feeling a little bit better to day (day 6) and i want to go to my sports game. I still have a fever, but I am up for going, even though i feel like crap, if I won't get others sick.

Also i hang with my team like 24/7 if they were going to get sick, wouldn't they have gotten sick, before i started staying home sick, like 8 days ago when i was with them with a lower fever or something? Thanks

I am a 14 year old girl

Some people are just more susceptible to the virus than others...but if I were you, since you still have a fever...I'd stay home. It's not so much that you'll get someone else sick...it's more that your system is already depressed and not completely recovered...and YOU could contract an even worse bug...besides...with the flu, I can guarantee you that even though you feel up to it right now...you run the risk of wearing yourself down even more if you go out..and you're going to feel even worse later on. The flu has a pretty high rebound risk until you're completely over it.

When you no longer have a fever you are no longer contagious.

It's up to you whether or not to risk it. If you have a fever you are contagious, why your friends hadn't gotten sick is either blind luck or they are sick and just haven't felt the full effects of it yet.
