Lamasil is a prescription drug that is supposed to work well but take a long time, is expensive and can cause liver damage.
I have heard of people applying vinegar to toenail every day because fungus cannot grow in an acidic environment. Also have heard of people using Vicks vapor rub. You can use a rotary tool like the nail salons use to thin the thick nail to make it look more normal.
Here is a great site for info~ http://www.toenailfungus.org/
good luck.

no foot doc

A podiatrist told me that soaking it in vinegar water works.

Not that I know of. I'm sorry......like most fungal infections, takes special medicines.

I am an RN

nope my friend has it and you have to go to doc sorry

maybe (only topical) tea tree oil

u shood ask ur local doctor bout tht & if he cant help then i want do is get some foot fungus protection medicine or put lotion on my feet with socks every night wen i go to bed.

Boric acid and rubbing alcohol. 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol to 1 tablespoon of boric acid. Mix then dab a cotton ball and soak it, then place all over the affected area. Do this every day until it clears up. Be sure to keep boric acid away from children and animals. Do not ingest!!! It's poisonous when ingested! ALSO, you can use Listerine mouth wash. Same thing, just dab a cotton ball in it and rub all over the affected area. Good luck! :)

No topical medication, tea, acid, alcohol, urine, tree sap, or water buffalo saliva will help this condition. As was said in one of the answers, this is a viral infection and oral medication is the only way. Lamasil is a 3 month therapy and Sporanox is a 6 month therapy. In both cases a pill is taken by mouth, daily.

And it works!! You will have to have your liver examined via blood test before prescription.

oh.. lets test my spelling heree..
listerene.. the mouth wash.
