What does the hairs in my nostrils do?!

Question: They are a defense mechanism, the hair keeps the dust and dirt out of your body as much as they can. The hairs catch it before it makes its way in to make you unhealthy or ill. Same thing for eylashes - keep dust and dirt out of eyes, etc. Anything that makes it's way in through your eyes, ears, nose, or mouth can make you sick.

They catch boogers

Hanging out of the nostrils...look ugly...inside help filter the air!

its a throw back from when man lived in caves, they kept the bugs and other matter out of the nose

the little hairs help to block foreign objects from entering our body (bugs, germs, etc)

They help catch items that are too large that you might inhale that might be harmful to you, they also catch odors and such & trap them so that they are brought on vapors to your olfactory bulbs & straight to your brain where they trigger emotions & like or disgust, or memories, Idk.

keep out allergents

it filters air, but it's also there to make you less attractive to members of the opposite sex.
