Parents of children who have had viral infections....please help?!
Question: 6 year old daughter has broke into this rash. its only on her chest and there is a small splotch on her back...i have ruled out measles and i have ruled out scabies. could this be a viral infection. i am going to call her dr tomorrow, but i need peace of mind right now. the rash looks like this
small pin prick size dots that are slightly raised
redness around the dots
very little itchiness...she hasnt scratched it now for about 4 hours or so
thought i put some calamine lotion on the rash and now the redness has cleared up there are just small pin prick size dots that are still a little pink.
has anyone experienced this with their child?

My kids have gotten lots of rashes that were all diagnosed as "viral", though I can't really say anything matching your description. Chances are that it's a virus, though. Has she been exposed to any new meds, foods, soaps, detergents, etc.?
