Im scared of Aids/HIV!?!
Question: I had sex with a girl about 17 months ago and it was somewhat protected. (We started with no condom then after about 15 seconds I put one on). Anyway the day after that, I woke up with a sore throat which turned out to be strep but she was perfectly healthy the next day.
But heres the thing. Earlier that day, someone who I KNOW had the flu coughed on me and I knew I would eventually get sick from that. Is it possible that strep hadnt made me sick yet by that night and so it didnt pass on to her while we were making out. I just dont understand how I could wake up with strep and she didnt just the very next day.
I was looking at some symptoms and it says that mono not strep is a sympton of aids/hiv. But I've also read that some people have been mis-diagnosed with strep when they really had mono. So is it possible that the strep meds I was taking actually cured mono instead?
I've been so worried by this that I havent had sex in almost a year and a half. Help?

It's doubtful you have contracted HIV. HIV is transmitted through blood and large amounts of other body fluids. You can probably got to your local health department and be tested for free. I would definitely get tested instead of runing the rest of my adult life being paranoid!!
go to a clinic and get tested. if your embarrassed or something don't worry. they keep things confidential. my guess is that your probily just paranoid, but you should have it checked out anyways.
I believe you should get tested... It's best to know now... Your risk is very minimal...
