Question: it's not a Port. this is put into the vein, under the skin on the back of the arm, i think. it's so you can have antibiotics put into your vein on an outpatient basis. it's supposed to last for about 2 months. thanks for any help.

yeah, its called a PICC line. its placed in your brachial vein (basically in the area between your biceps and triceps). what questions do you have about it?
Central line, heparin well or a port.

a heparin lock !its an iv that is caped off and you can access it with a needle and infuse antibiotics.
