Do all people who go through chemotherapy lose their hair?!

Question: Afriend I work with has breast cancer and is taking chemotherapy. She has a beautiful head of long hair and it is her own. Is this unusual?

No, there are some people who retain most of their hair. There are many factors which will dtermine this. Type of drugs used, amount of time it is used, and the person's genetic makeup and health has a lot to do with it.

Everyone has different reactions to Chemo.

It depends on the type of chemo and the dosage. I took a pill form and lost hair but not completely. I did not have patches missing. It came back thick and curly....

Everyone is different, so no not nescessarily

It depends on the chemo regime; some cause no hair loss, some cause hair thinning and most cause hair loss. A patient's oncologist can tell them before they start whether their particular chemo will cause har loss.

Your friend may be taking a chemo combination that doesn't cause hair loss, or if she started her chemo within the last three weeks or so, she may just not have lost it yet.

I think it depends on the drugs used.

each person is different
some do some dont
it depends on what and how much she has to take of the chemo

She's probably going through a earlier dosage into chemo. Yeah, I had luekemia about six years ago and I lost my hair, it grew back darker and thicker. Chemo usually makes you lose your hair- and sometimes it will be late into chemo that they lose their hair or early in depending how bad their disease is.

Not everyone loses their hair with chemo. My mom did the first two rounds, but didn't with the last 2. I think it depends on the type of chemo they use and how strong it is.

well i have went through chemotherapy twice and i lost my hair both times, i am sure everyone looses their hair but i didn't mine until my last treatment both times. i didn't think i was going to lose it but i did at the last minute.

My hair is thinner, but it is still mostly there.

Not all Kemo therapy is the same and no not all people lose their hair.. It depend a lot on the Kemo.
