How to improve sight in a child who had motiabind operation.?!


Question: my sisters daughter had motiabind from her birth in one eye the operation took place when she was 4 years old the operation was successful but in the past 2 years her sight has improved and she is able to see upto 5 meters but for the past 6 moths there is no improvement in her vision. please provide me with the information of any new treatment to help her improve her sight.

It is not clear if she was given intraocular lens implant, or she is using glasses. Once the cataract is out, vision is restored immediately with the help of either of the ways I just mentioned. Vit A is helpful, but any refractive error or any other associated abnormality needs correction, that is more important. See this site-

It further says-
"Without early intervention, congenital cataracts can lead to development of "lazy eye" or amblyopia. This condition can then lead to other eye problems such as nystagmus, strabismus, and inability to fix a gaze upon objects."
Your niece was 4 years old when operated, while surgery if indicated, is recommended much earlier (within months after birth). Was she diagnosed late?

Feed her carrots.

They contain HEAPS of carotene, more than any vegie.
