I would like to take the pill - mainly to prevent acne and other hormonal effect!

i wasnt going to answer because i dont know about depression links. BUT the pill DOES prevent acne. it helped me a lot iwth acne, headaches, menstrual cramps, irregular and heavy periods, and as a added bonus-no pregnancy! I know the doctor will ask what other meds. youre on and keep a close eye on you if you have depression. good luck, and check your options out : )
The herbal anti depressant St. John's Wort makes the pill less effective.
If you are prescribed anti depressants, a doctor will take this into consideration when prescribing the pill. However, I haven't heard of the pill preventing acne.
My birth control doesn't interfere with my SSRI's but check with your doctor as your medication might be different.
