Why does soap make my skin feel dry?!

Question: Because the chemical composition of soap enables it to break down oil and dirt so it will suspend in water to be rinsed off. The soap doesn't differentiate between the natural oils produced by the skin and the gunk that just landed on you- so it can strip off your natural lubricants sufficiently enough to result in dry skin. It may also be the remains of soap curds, which happen when soap is used in particularly hard water. In that case, the chemicals in your water will combine with the soap suds to form a curd that is very difficult to rinse away. You are left with a coating of soap and dirt crud that is irritating to the skin. The sensation of dry skin feels the same as the hard water crud skin- so unless you know exactly which it is, it can be hard to say. If you have calcium fuzz or hard water buildup at the sinks or in the tea kettle- then it's likely soap curds. If you don't, your soap is a bit too efficient for you. If it's soap crud, you can either soften the water coming into the house or use a water softener in the bathwater. If it's just dry skin from the soap, use a moisturizing soap, a bath oil, or a lotion after the bath.

regular soap can strip the natural oils off your skin, leaving it dry. I suggest you don't just use a regular soap and try using ivory or dove moisturizing bar soap. Ivory is my favorite. Also, neutrogena has great soaps.

this means that your skin is dry, why don't you use cleansing milk to clean your face and apply some oil after you take bath.

and avoid harsh soaps, try to use highly moisturizing soaps making your skin less dry.

you have some sensative skin try using a different soap like dove or a face moiterizer after you wash your face

Soap is a surfactant. That is what surfactants do. Granted the explanation of the theory is a little more complicated the end result is that surfactants remove or allow the easy removal of oils.

it means ur soap cantains much amount of muds.
if it effectsmuch on ur skin then its better to change ur soap.preffer soaps cantaning some oil.
