Being treated for hydrocephelus and intraventricular masses?!

Question: I have been seeing a neurosurgeon for the pat 6 wks. i have had headaches for the past year and my regular dr just said it was sinuses or something else. I went to the er 6wks ago and thought i was having a migraine and they found all this. My neurosurgeon says it could have been there all my life and me not know it but why would i just now be showing signs...i have no energy and stay confused and sick at my stomach. If it is not what they found then why wouldn't have had these problems earlier in my life...i am 36 years old now. I can't drive because of blurred vision. They put me out of work until the symptoms relieve. They gave me no medicene so i don't see how i can get better. Just keep folowing up every 6wks . Anyone have any ideas or what i should do?

Hi- I would STRESS to the Specialist that you do need medications for the pain. In addition, write a list of questions down to ask the Neurosurgeon. If you aren't satisfied with this Physician, I would go to another Specialist. There are medications, such as Phenergan, for nausea. It is not unusual for Physicians to make a diagnosis without doing the proper tests. I had to have a major surgery on my wrist, 20+ years after an injury- I was just "Blown Off", for a lack of better words as to how I felt. If this Specialist has you off on Medical Leave, then this is the time for more studies to be done. Again, if you aren't satisfied with this Specialist, I'd go to another one. Blurred Vision, Nausea, Fatigue, and an inability to drive due to the vision issues should not be taken lightly. I would be VERY PERSISTANT that your questions be answered. This is your body, and your livlihood. Going by one or two Doctor's opinions is not always the answer. If they are not helping you, especially with this diagnosis, I'd be checking into another referral. I would also suggest doing a log on your symptoms: Date, Time, Duration, Symptom.
Here are some sites below that I hope will assist you.
GOOD LUCK AND TAKE CARE!
