Growth on Chest?!

Question: So, last Tuesday I had a very minor growth on my chest removed. The doctor called it a fibroma. It was tiny yet needed a bandaid on it to keep it from dirt. My question is, how long until I can take the bandage off? Or better yet, how long till the mark where the growth was is gone?

You should be able to take it off now. (I hope you were changing the bandaid.) It should be healed up, plenty, and needs some air. You will almost certainly have a scar there. Mederma is an OTC topical cream that reduces the appearance of scars. You may want to try it, as long as the wound is healed up and not open, bleeding, or seeping. Vitamin E oil may also help.

My husband also had a fibrous tumor removed, except his was larger and he has almost a 2 inch long scar. His skin was also cut into about an inch, and had two layers of stitches. He only had to keep it covered for a week. That's why I think you should be OK.

The doctor should have told you that. Shame on him. You should be putting on a clean bandage (Band-Aid is a brand name) every day. I'd put on a clean one once when you get up and again when you go to bed.

Change the bandage... it might take 6 weeks for it to be gone.. Dont worry about the scar unless you are a male stripper..

bandaids?? Those are for pansies! Pour some bleach on it and call it a day! :-)

Just playing Hoffy.. I dunno.. I just wanted to answer! :-)
