Go to a doctor, preferably an allergist, and get tested, also be sure to get an Epipen in case you ever have a severe reaction, and carry Benadryl

I'm severely allergic to Brazil nuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, and hazelnuts. I learned it when I was a kid and like you ate some mixed nuts, then my throat swelled and I nearly died from it. Now I avoid them and have to make sure that what I eat doesn't contain any of those nuts. If my boyfriend eats cashews and gives me a kiss I'll end up with swelling where his lips touched. With Brazil nuts I even react to dust in the air from them.

Allergy shots won't help food allergies, so you have to avoid the things you are allergic to. Don't push eating them again, because it can end up sending you to the ER or killing you. The big thing is to get tested, so you are sure of what caused the problems. It is probably something you've developed from ongoing exposure.

Tree nut allergies suck. I really miss walnuts. I haven't eaten them in over 20 years now because I'm so allergic, it's also a pain during the holidays since people are determined to put nuts in everything.

Hi there.
Chances are you might actually have developed an allergy to nuts. You need to see a doctor to confirm the diagnosis, and take action. Allergies like yours can kill you. If your throat swells to the point of obstructing your windpipe you risk it badly. Avoid all nuts containing foods and go see your doc.

WWWWoooaaaahhhh - thats a pretty serious and severe reaction.

Mild reaction - itchy rash
Severe reaction - wheeze, puffy eyes
Potentially Fatal Reaction - throat swelling, tongue swelling, facial/neck swelling, shortness of breath.... and any of the above.

Consider an emergency ambulance if it happens again, especially if it makes breathing difficult or swallowing impossible.
