What is your opinion on Herpes????!

Question: I have had HSV coming on 10years got it from a Solo Guitarist/singer loser. I slept with him on the sunday night and got symptoms on the monday. I have a partner who knows I have it but he does not, and we have a 10month old son (he does not have it either) Now there is so much info out there that is inconclusive and very much confusing.
1.You can have it and not know it and pass it on or have it and it lays dormant for years even forever and not pass it on.???
2.They say there is a shedding period and you can pass it on.
3.You catch it from skin on skin contact
4.You catch it after the blister has broken
The list goes on and on full invariables.
I have a few questions to ask. I
If you can pass it on at anytime from shedding or at anytime you don't have a blister/ lesion why can a women still give birth naturally while not have any signs of blisters etc????? About 2 weeks before I was due to give birth I broke out but still had a natural birth? Give me your thoughts?

Wow - that's alot of questions....
Did you buy Kevin's book? - he just preaches proper diet & exercise as a natural cure for EVERYthing....and that's it "mind over matter" but we know that's just not completely true. Taking care of yourself and staying stress-free helps ALOT!
Here's what I think. Some people think we have "a-symptomatic shedding" which means we can't see or feel the virus, but it's flakes off with our skin.
I DO NOT believe that at all.....I think we need to come to recognize our PRE-symptoms - which is the cramping, tingling and itching we feel before an outbreak.
I have NO sexual contact at all from the time I feel the 1st tingle until they are completely healed....which means the scabs have dried up on their own & fell off!
I recognize I'm contagious from the 1st feeling until my skin is back to normal! And it's been working for me
Stress, sun exposure and aggravants (baby oil, powder) cause an outbreak - so I avoid those things as well.
When I feel my PRE-symptoms I put some rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer on the area (it always happens in the same spot) and it will keep the outbreak from happening - and I don't have sex until the itching and pre-symptoms completely STOP!
I've had 4 children (yes, I've been married and divorced twice) - all c-sections because labor & delivery are known to stress the body & cause an outbreak

see a doctor cuz i have no experience with this stuff wut so ever docs usually now their stuff so yea.....they'll refer u to a specialist if they feel the need

About 1 in 3 women have herpes and soon just about every woman out their is going to have herpes it's spreading fast i do not think this is a bad desiese at all it's just very inconvenient it doesn't kill you, you just come up with a couple inconvenient blisters down their when your stressed so dont think your diffrent to other's hey i caught it at 16! now thats scary a stupid little girl i was! but im guna live just how i was before nothing has changed and your baby is healthy whiles they would have known at birth, GOOD LUCK!

It's certainly possible your partner can be infect . You can reduce the risk to your partner by having sex only when you have no symptoms. However, the virus can still be contagious without any noticeable symptoms such as sores or a rash on the skin. That's why you should always use a latex condom. A condom does not completely eliminate the risk, because it may not cover an affected area, but it does offer some protection.

There is no cure for genital herpes. Unless scientists find one in the future, you will always have the virus. But taking antiviral drugs can help manage your condition. Ask your doctor about treatment options.

Genital herpes can be painful, inconvenient, and upsetting, but it's not considered a life-threatening condition. Even so, it may increase your risk of getting HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, because the sores are prime spots for HIV to get into your body. What's more, being infected with HIV and the herpes virus may make both diseases worse.

A pregnant woman can pass genital herpes on to her baby, so it's particularly serious during pregnancy. If you get infected near the end of pregnancy, the risk is highest. At least 30% and as many as 50% of newly infected pregnant women give the virus to their babies. For moms who were infected long before delivery, the risk is much lower. Less than 1% of babies born to mothers with an older genital herpes infection get the virus. Also, doctors usually will perform a cesarean section if a woman is having an outbreak at the time of delivery.

You may have heard that genital herpes causes cervical cancer. That's not exactly true. It may be a factor, but it's not the main cause.

About one in five adults in the U.S. are infected. You can say it's like having cold sores on the mouth (which 50% to 80% of all adults in the U.S. have), except the virus has infected your genitals. It will also help if you're calm when talking to your partner and approach the discussion with a positive attitude: "I think we can work this out so that we'll both be happy," not, "This will probably tear us apart, but
