Why won't my dry skin go away?!

Question: I have flaky, dry skin, from head to toe and it won't go away. I've tried every lotion out there to no avail! Have tried perscrptions, oils, lotions, vaseline and nothing works! I even stopped the use of soap on my skin and take only a 1 minute shower. Any more suggestions?

Skin grows from the inside out. Topical soaps and lotions can't heal you.

Your skin is the largest breathing and detoxifying organ you have.

Begin by changing how you eat. Excessive protein is the most common cause of very dry skin. (and hair loss) Cut back on meat and dairy while increasing fruits and veggies. Also whole grains. Not just "wheat bread" - but make sure it's "whole wheat" - that means it includes the germ. Dump everything "refined white" from your diet. No more "refined white sugar" - buy only unbleached natural sugar. No more refined white salt. Buy the gray stuff and put a little dry rice in your salt shaker to keep it from caking. No more refined white flour. Only whole wheat, whole spelt or any other whole grain.

Also, begin adding omegas to your diet. Flax oil has the right combination of omega 3 to omega 6 to balance out the imbalance between animal product consumption and fruit and veggie consumption. Don't get salmon oil. That will only increase the problem.

Avoid any soap or lotion with petroleum, mineral oil or parabens. These items dry your skin. Unfortunately they are in just about everything. Try Jason brand or Giovanni brand. Especially avoid Vaseline products as they are entirely petroleum based and loaded with parabens. Vaseline products should all be marked toxic.

Also, Kombucha tea. Start drinking it. It got rid of my eczema. Don't buy it in bag form. Buy it bottled.

DO NOT take "hot hot" baths. Run tepid showers and use very mild soaps and lotions.

Olive oil is the closest thing there is to your skin's own natural oil. Slather it on then put on a pair of sweats.

maybee ur diseased

vaseline darling vaseline

You might have excemza and should see a dermatologist about it. It could also be allergies to laundry detergent or dust mites. Good luck!

before going to bed have one glass of milk daily and apply milk on your dry skin and drink 2 to 3 litre of water daily, and see the difference in 30 days.

Just try Lakme winter nourishing creme it affects even i'm trying

Do you drink a lot of water? I asked a pharmacist about my dry skin and she recommended that I start drinking a lot of water. Have you tried taking oatmeal baths? Those helped me, too.

drink more water

have you tried aquaphor ointment?

take vitamin E capsules every day. That is good for your hair too
run a HOT HOT bath, add a good amount of baby oil (I used Johnsens Lavender Baby Oil), soak in that, then get out, pat dry. Thoroughly goop yourself with Johnsen's Baby Cream. Use Vaseline on elbows, hands and feet.
Also run a humidifier in your home, especially if you have forced hot air heat (THE WORST FOR SKIN!!)

It could be Psoriasis. Ask a Doctor.
Have you used lotion/s? Try Eucerin.

My daughter had really dry skin when she was younger and the doctor told me I was bathing her to often...ridiculous I know. However once I let up it went away.

Dry skin types have to be extremely careful to protect their skin. Yogurt-honey combination helps dry skin. Make an egg pack with a yolk, a teaspoon of honey, a tablespoon of milk powder. This is beneficial to dry skin types. There are many helpful tips to cure dry skin at http://useinfo-dryskin.blogspot.com/
