Can you prevail cancer if you've been diagnosed as it being almost untreatab!

Question: In general, if you have cancer, and then the doctors tell you that the cancer is getting to the point where it's so bad that it's almost untreatable, can you still at any point prevail the disease (or become cancer-free)?

To me, there is always hope. If the prevailing knowledge at the time (6 years ago for me) was to be believed, I had a 15% chance of living 5 more years. I am still fighting and kicking AND working. God still works miracles, but the doctors are very good and they use a number of criteria to make their prognosis. A lot depends on the type of cancer, has it mestastisized, at what stage is it, where has it mestastisized to? Usually the liver is a bad metastatic spot, but people have been known recently to manage those tumors with RF ablation. This is where a probe is inserted into the body and the tumor is cooked while it's still inside the body. It is less invasive than surgery and is an outpatient procedure usually, i've had it done on me, i went home the same day. This can reduce the tumor mass and help manage the disease. My current state has a tumor too close to my heart to operate. The doctors tried Cyberknife, a very precise targeting radiation treatment. Unfortunately for me it didn't work, but there is hope it can work for others, especially those with brain or spinal lesions. Then there is embolisation, where PVA, or some other device is used to cut off the blood supply to the tumor. Also Angio genesis inhibitors, used to chemically inhibit the tumor from growing new blood vessels to supply itself with nutrients. Your best source though is to ask the Oncologist. With me, it like asking the patient at a psych ward who's crazy.

Anything is possible, it has happened.

Your odds aren't good, but it does happen. I survived a type of cancer that has a fatality rate of 80+ percent. I'm now in complete remission, and have been for over a decade. I was lucky, sure, but my inspiration was Jimmy V: "Don't give up. Don't ever give up!"

Gosh that's a tough question. I think nothing is impossible, but what I do know is that your attitude is really important. So without seeming arrogant I would advise you to not give into it. May I also wish you all the very best of luck.

ABSOLUTELY! DOCTORS HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO MAKE MISTAKES, NOT OFTEN, BUT, ALSO YOUR MIND IS POWERFUL AND THROUGH THE GRACE OF YOUR HIGHER POWER OR GOD, ALONG WITH THE STRENGTH OF YOUR FAITH, YES, MIRACLES ARE COMMONPLACE WITH FAITH

I have heard of it. I haven't known anyone where this happened. I am hopeful.
