Can tanning help acne?!

Question: I have back acne on my upper back and shoulder, I really hate it.
I have used pro-active, body wash, and a lufa in the shower, Im recently on a medication, I just continue getting break outs, its a weird spot for them and nasty.......

I heard tanning will dry them out will it?

*plz don't tell me how bad tanning is, I've heard it all.*

Yes, it does. My brother's dermatologist, yes doctor, used to recommend it because he hated the acne so much. It dries everything out. I've gone for that reason too. Good luck!

SKIN CANCER!!!

it can be a temporary fix but the moment you stop tanning it will come back worse and I got eczema from tanning beds!

Yeah, it helps with ingrown hairs too.
If you're on medication though, it might make you extra sensitive to the tanning rays, so make sure it's not a photosensitive med. (Or else stop taking it)...
Good luck... hopefully your acne will clear up sooner rather than later and you won't have to go tanning for *too long :)

Yea I've had bad acne too and finally my dermatologist put me on a pill and it's gone away. But I used to go out in the sun and tan when I had a few pimples that I wanted to go away, but it really doesn't help it that much because it just covers up the pimples with more red skin. And on top of that being sunburnt dries out your skin and then causes a fake reaction to have your skin cells produce more oil because they think your skin is dried out. So really sun exposure just makes your skin produce more oil to try and heal the burn/tan and it ends up being worse for you in the end. But if its any consolation the temporary redness can make the acne apear to go away...

sure it might help it now,but it also can cause more problems latter in life that a Dr. cant cure. :(

yes. a little/
